The Process
How It Works
-
Tell Us About Your Business
Schedule a consultation and explain your business activities, bookkeeping needs, and current recordkeeping process. We discuss the number of transactions, financial accounts, bookkeeping software, and any challenges you are experiencing.
-
Review Your Financial Records
We review the information you provide and identify the bookkeeping services needed. If you already use QuickBooks, we discuss your existing setup. If you are starting from scratch, we help determine an appropriate bookkeeping organization process.
-
Organize and Maintain Your Books
Once the service agreement is approved, we begin the agreed bookkeeping work. Depending on your package, this may include recording transactions, categorizing expenses, reconciling accounts, and organizing supporting documents. We communicate with you when additional information or clarification is needed.
-
Receive Your Financial Reports
We provide the agreed bookkeeping reports and financial summaries. You can use these records to better understand your business activity, prepare for tax season, and support informed financial decisions. For ongoing clients, bookkeeping maintenance continues according to the agreed monthly schedule.

Monthly Transaction Allowances
Monthly bookkeeping packages include an agreed transaction allowance (up to 50 transactions monthly and up to 2 financial accounts). The $175 introductory price does not cover unlimited transactions or unlimited financial accounts. Additional transactions may be billed at $2 each, according to the service agreement.
Bookkeeping Software
U-Consults primarily uses QuickBooks-based workflows. Software subscriptions, premium applications, and other third-party expenses are not automatically included in the bookkeeping service price. Any required subscription costs will be explained before services begin.
Catch-Up and Cleanup Work
If your bookkeeping records are incomplete or several months behind, additional cleanup or catch-up work may be necessary. These projects are evaluated and quoted separately.
Client Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for providing complete and accurate business information, supporting documentation, and timely clarification of transactions. We may request additional information when records are incomplete or unclear.
Bookkeeping and Tax Preparation
Bookkeeping and tax preparation are separate services. Organized bookkeeping records can support tax preparation, but monthly bookkeeping packages do not automatically include tax return preparation or filing. Tax preparation services are available through our Tax Services division.
Professional Service Boundaries
Bookkeeping services focus on financial recordkeeping and organization. Audits, attestations, legal advice, investment advice, and other regulated professional services are not included unless separately arranged with an appropriately qualified professional.
Confidentiality and Financial Information
Financial records are handled according to applicable privacy requirements and the agreed service arrangements. Clients should use approved secure methods for sharing financial documents and providing access to bookkeeping systems.
